Help make a difference in our community and join WMMO for The 17th Annual Basket Brigade
The Basket Brigade is built on a simple notion: one small act of generosity on the part of one caring person can transform the lives of hundreds. The Basket Brigade, provides baskets of food and household items to those who need it the most during the holidays. Each nominated family will receive a tailor-made gift basket of food to ensure they have a Thanksgiving meal.
Here's how you can help:
Saturday, November 21st- Basket Brigade
Join us for the Basket Brigade event which is held in the parking lot of Home Depot on the corner of Lee Road and I-4 on November, 21st at 9am. Create your own basket for a family in need and drop it off to the event on 11/21 for delivery.
In addition to donating a basket, we could also use your help to deliver the gift baskets to the families in need. If you can join us on November 21st at 9am, you will be given a couple of addresses and baskets to deliver to families who have been nominated as a family to receive a basket this year. You can drop off the baskets to the families on your way home from Basket Brigade.
Get your friends and families together and help us meet our goal of delivering 1,000 baskets this year!
Not sure what to put in a basket? Here are some suggestions. Please shop for a family of five.
- Laundry basket (required to hold the items)
- Baking / roasting pan (required)
- Beans
- Cranberries
- Canned vegetables, corn, yams, peas
- Boxed mashed potatoes
- Boxed stuffing
- Juice (packets)
- Coupon for turkey / ham
